“Rain, Rain, Rain”.

” What ever happened to the Sun, and the Summer time Warmth?”
When will the Sun come back to stay? I, keep asking myself that. Being the aging lady that I am, I find the bones hurt more with this lovely weather we are having almost everyday. I long for the Sun upon my face, the sweat rolling down my face. The warmth making these tired bones feel better. But, all we seem to get is the rain falling down. ” Come On Someone turn off the tap for at least a few weeks”. I can’t handle this anymore.
When I take my dogs for a walk I need an umbrella. And have you ever smelt the aroma that comes from a wet dog? All the dogs owners out there will atest that the smell of a wet dog is, well, ” Stinky” to say the least. I have wet feet from the puddles, and my shoes will soon smell like the dog. :-0 The plants, grass, and of course the weeds are growing at an incredible rate. I feel like I live in a jungle. When I open my door the weeds are right there. I fear they may get the dogs next time they go to do their business. I will have to soon send my mate out there to fight off the ever growing vegetation. I will tie a rope around their waist to pull them back to safety. For I know not what will be growing there, if this rain does not go away.
I know as a child, my brother and I would stand in the porch at my grandma’s house, and repeat, ” rain, rain go away, come again another day.” I know the only thing we got from saying that was a sharp bolt of lightening that hit the pathway right in front of us. We ran like little scared rabbits. Our hearts pounding in our chests. I have never forgotten that day. I tried the same phrase just the other day from my own porch, and low and behold there was the darn lightning again. You think I would have learned, but, it was just too tempting not to try it again. This time I did not run as fast, but my heart was almost racing as fast. It’s funny when we look back at all the things we did to taunt the rain. We loved the good old rain dance, “Not that we need that now”. I wonder if they have one to turn the rain off for awhile? :-hmmm
I love the way little children cannot resist the puddle, and the chance to get their feet wet, to see how far the water would splash. And just when the fun was getting good, here comes Mom, yelling, “ Johnny don’t do that” but by the time the words come from her lips it is too late. Little people know that the fun is there in that puddle. “Have you gone puddle jumping lately?” So, when you get closer to that puddle ahead of you, remember what it felt like as a child. The joy it brought you to see the water splash. The rain is good for many things and does alot for this world, and I am happy to see it fall, but, ” HEY” this is quite enough.:-0
Maybe we will be fortunate in the month of August. We could see that big bright ball of light shine all by itself without the clouds covering it. And we may enjoy the warm sun upon our faces. Lets all hope, for the sun to shine, and stay for awhile. ” Cause I don’t want to wait till next Summer”
Sing our sunny songs, and just maybe the sun will come. I really don’t want to build an ark. I’m not a good carpenter, and it would leak for sure.
So, everyone get together and wish for good weather.
