“What A Weekend.”

We love our weekends. This was one good weekend. The trek to camps, and cottages, started early, and the trek back will likely end late on Monday night. ” Did you make the trek.?
We travel down the crowded highway all for that few days of relaxation. The time to kick back, relax, and partake in a cold one, and share the company of loved ones. What a beautiful way to relax. But, first we must fight the crowds that have the same idea as us. We pack our vehicles full of the goods we need, and even that little snack and games for the little ones. Keeping the litle ones happy also helps on the trek to your destination. The roads, in spots, can be bumper to bumper traffic, but “Yes” it is all worth it. You grip the wheel, and grind your teeth, the toughts of golden sand between your toes, and a nice cold one in your hand, keeps you from boiling over in the traffic. After hours, or minutes of travel, you finally arrive. “You are there.” The sun is shining, and the air is sticky with heat, but who cares, after all the rain you have endured in the past weeks. The sun is a wonderful welcoming perk. Time to kick back and relax.
You are finally here. “Aaahhh! ”
By the light of the moon you close your day, relaxed and happy.
This is one of those great weekends that we have been waiting for, and a long weekend to boot. We have truly lucked out.
We rise in the morning, to the cool air of the night, but there it is the warm, smiling sun breaking threw the darkness. Looks like another warm day.
And as the weekend presses on the Sun wakes us each morning. To kiss our faces, and brighten our way. Time for games and fun, or just to relax. Out in nature, the sounds of the birds, the loons’ cry sings us to sleep at the end of the day. The lake sparkling, as the sun reaches down to caress the warm water. The smell of camp fires, and food on the stove. “What a beautiful day.
”
But, all too soon reality creeps in to tell us the weekend is over. Everyone wishes they did not have leave. So, with sadness in our hearts we pack the vehicle, trying very hard to take our time. The pack is done. Just one more walk around to take in the beauty. Our cameras loaded up with great memories, of this beautiful weekend. The time to leave is here, and now, is the journey home. The traffic, the tension, and the sadness we feel knowing we are returning home.
As much as the roads are hectic, we will make the trek again. To the nature, to the relaxation, that helps us cope with the hurried lives we live. ” So, to all the road warriers, and nature hunters out there,” there weekend will be another weekend soon.
