One last time

Even though this weekend was cold, wet, and yucky, I went camping anyways.
The first day of camp was cold, to say the least. I booked sites with hydro, so a heater could be used a night time to keep the tent warm, and free of the dampness. It really helps, and gives the bodies of us older people the warmth we need.
After erecting the tent, I set ahead with attaching a make shift shelter where everyone could eat, and spend time out of the rain. I have the nack of being able to set up a camp site like being at home.
I love to make the experience worth remembering. The day before we left for camp I made a large beef stew, and that was our first hot meal at camp. Served with fresh crusty bread, and sourdough bread. ” Yummy Good. ”
Our meals were a community thing, we all added this and that to make the eating experience quite exciting. Nothing like sharing. On the last day of camp we experienced a dish made by the oldest son’s “wife to be”, the dish was called, “Tasario” I think. :-0 It was great!! The taste of the pork was amazing. I really hope she will make it for us sometime soon.
That night we snuggled aroung the camp fire. I would say just to keep warm, and to watch the ambers dance in the night air. A camp fire is so beautiful. The children roasted marshmallows for everyone that wanted one, some burnt, and some golden brown. ” Yummy “.
With the first day of camp coming to an end we all turned in for a good nights sleep. All safe and warm in our beds.
As you can see we all like a nice warm bed to sleep in. This is Ginger our little puppy, she thinks she is a human. And I sometimes believe she is.
Our next day was warmer, and with no rain it made the day wonderful. We took walks through the wooded areas, looking at the fungus on the fallen trees, and the leaves that were just turning colors.

We took a trip to the dog beach so all our furry buddies could romp on the beach. The water was so calm, and warm. The dogs enjoyed their time at the beach as we all did. The children splashed hand fulls of sand into the water, which made a sound that made me think of fire crackers going off. We sat on the beach and watched the calming shimmer of the water.
What a beautiful place to visit. The rest of our day was spent relaxing, and enjoying each others company. I love family times, and get togethers.
After everyone was fed dinner, we started a blazzing fire, and sat staring at the flames. They can be so hypnotic. Our dogs enjoyed the time with us too.

We stayed by the fire till the rain came and drove evryone inside. The rain withdrew shortly after we all turned in, and came back at 2:00 A.M. and gave us a very wet morning. To pack up camp in the wet, muddy, rain can make the sweetest camper turn into a grumpy bear. But, the weather changing is all part of the camping experience.
” Have you had your end of the year camping experience yet? “ Time is running out.
