Is it over yet?
As we come to the night before the Christmas day celebrations, how many of us ask ourselves, “Is it over yet?”
” YES it is. ”
We made it threw all the visitors, the food, the beverages, and the wrapping paper toss.
Now we can give a happy sigh of relief. We can relax, and enjoy the quiet times. We can look over our photo graphic memories of the day, and just, “Smile”.
I would like to share some smiles,of our days fun with everyone.
“Enjoy some of my Christmas memories.”

Ready to go, but does anyone notice? “NOT”

And this is how the day ended, with everyone fast asleep.
Christmas is near! :-)
The time is nearing for the big day. “Are you ready?”
What big day you may ask?
Well, it will be Christmas very soon! There are only three sleeps left till “Christmas Day” is here.
“Santa” will have come, and went, the gifts left under the tree.
The children once asleep with visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads. Will be wide awake, their eyes brightly shining, smiles wide upon their faces, will scamper to the tree and look over each gift to see which one is theirs. The giggles, and glee in their voices pierce the once silence of the sleeping house. Now is the time for the busy elves to rise from the warmth of their bed, and join in on the excitement of the day.
“Coffee, or Tea”, is the first stimulant needed.
The children and some of the adult elves can hardly wait for the beverage to be ready. But, with out this, it is hard to handle the hustle, and bustle which is about to happen.
“The time has come.”
The once quiet children have begun to unwrap their gifts one by one. Wrapping paper which was once so carefully applied to each gift, is now flying through the air, and littering the once clean tidy room. But, all this frenzy is worth the look on the faces of the children. The thank yous, and kisses and hugs of joy make all the stress of shopping seem like a long-time lost memory.
“It was all worth it.”
I love Christmas not just for the looks on the childrens faces, but for the closeness that comes over most of us on this day of giving. We gather round, and give thanks for the things we have, and enjoy a feast prepared by loving hands.
“I wish everyone out there, A very Merry Christmas.”
Be safe, and do not drink and drive.
Come to Winter
” Snow, Snow, Snow.”
We have been hit, by tons of the cold white stuff. ” Help Me.”
As I look out my door this is all I can see. The Christmas lights peek from under the white fluff of the snow. The beauty of this event amazes me. I can’t help but take photographs by the dozen.
The winter is here for sure.
Our puppies frolic in the snow, bounding here and there. There faces covered in white snow, but this is fun to them. Their pleasure is our delight.
Enjoy your winter if you get one, play in the snow, go skiing, skating, sleighing, snow ball fitting, or whatever gets you out the door.
“Enjoy the beauty.”
“Happy Winter”
Waiting times
I have writen before about hospital waiting times. I wish to continue with my dis-pleasure, and dis-beleif with the on going health care problems. :-(
Going to see your doctor if you have one is nothing like it used to be. You have to call, and get a busy signal time after time. I find to put your phone on the redial routine. I find to push redial, after dialing the number, then when you get the busy signal hang up right away do the redial again. Stick with this routine, and you will be talking with the nurse soon after.
Now if you are one of the few in this world that can gain contact with the nurse of your doctor right away. “ I take my hat off to you”, for you are very fortunate to have such a good doctor.
Now, once you have made contact, you ask to see the doctor, and the question first asked, at least in my case is what is wrong with you. I guess my illness will give me first choice on what date and time I get. Grant you, I do understand the question and the reason for it being asked. When I am sick I have no reasoning, I just need to get looked at, and taken care of. The sweet kind voice of the nurse comes back with the bad news, it will be one week before you can be seen by the doctor. The chances my illness will be there in a week is debateable. I hum and haw, the nurse says she has no sooner times open ,and if I wish I can go to the clinic or the emergency.
My heart begins to pump harded, as the idea of being trapped in the hospital goes through my mind. I take the appointment, and thank the nurse for her help.
The time for my doctor’s visit has approached, and I am still not feeling well. I arrive at the office, I check in, and wait. After a twenty minute wait I am in. ”Yes!” Now this is the tricky part, you give your symptoms and the doctor listens to your chest, and checks the blood pressure, and the throat.
She is rushed and you get the feeling you are taking up her pressious time. It seems that now the more patients you see in a day the more money you make. There it is again the all mighty dollar, and how it runs our lives.
I don”t know if it just me but, I feel like I am in the heird of running cattle. I am being rounded up and run up the ramp for your fast assesment.
I have found we are getting ten to fifteen minutes tops, for a regular appointment, and for your specially booked physical appointment you are given twenty to thirty minutes for your quick run over.
What happened to the patient, and the time to listen?
What the heck can we do?
Get another doctor? Well, that is easier said than done.
Maybe we should all go back in time to the point when doctors were abundant, and they needed to be kind with their patients in order to keep them.
“Oh” if only.
“Pinch me I must be dreaming.”
Thankful.
For the last little while I have been away from my blogging.
Life threw a real good curve at us, but now the curve has straightened out somewhat, and is getting better. Life has a way of doing things like that to you even if you don’t want it to. I like to look at these happenings as this way, ” a wake up call.” This is when something is trying to get your attention, and you refuse to look. Well, a good kick in the butt is what is coming your way, listen up. Take note to the things that are important, and as I have said before don’t sweat the small things.
I like to think that we all know, and pay attention. But, we don’t always. Life can smack us right upside the head, and wake us up real fast. We went through that, and have come out learning a life lesson. Now we can look ahead. After all we have the greatest gift ever, ” Family. “
Christmas is very close, and we have much to be thankful for. We will join for the holidays as many do, and give thanks that we are all together.
I would like to wish all families, freinds, and man-kind, a “Very Merry Christmas” from our family to yours. May your days be filled with love, happieness and good fortune. May everyone enjoy this holiday, and give a hand up to those around us. Drive safely, and enjoy.
” Merry Christmas” Everyone.
Health Care. What Happened to it?
“When family stands together.”
Our son has been in the hospital for the past seven days now. He is frustrated, and has just about had enough. The pain he has had for weeks is still there, and we can all understand his frustration. To be in pain day after day, after day, and to be held captive in the hospital, where the food is, “The Worst.” ever. The menu is limited, and very unappealing.
He has had a doctor, who’s name I wish not to mention, as he is one of the worst I have ever dealt with. This doctor has let him be in pain with little medication, and little compassion. The doctor is rough, and insensitive to the pain of his patients.
A new doctor has stepped in and my son is now getting the operation he has needed all along.
Now he will be able to get better and come home to his family, and the stress will go away for all of us.
The new doctor, I will call him a “Hero”, as to all of us he is. With only one look at my son he has found a problem and is going in after it. To him we give great thanks for his kind loving heart, and his smarts, as he would seem the kind of doctor that cares. “His breed is rare now a days.” He seen the problem right away, and acted on it right away. It has been only two times he has seen my son.
You are an angel.
The Kind Angel
There is so much frustration out there for many of us. I have gone through this myself, and as a result of the rotten doctors, I know,I was left with one kidney, and reoccuring bladder infections for the rest of my life. It is a sad day when you can not trust your doctor, and the reports from tests you get.:-(
What ever happened to good health care? :-( Do you have to be rich to get the best care? I thought we were all equal when it came to health care, but I have noticed that that is not true anymore. Now I know why health brokers are busy helping people get good health care over our borders. So, if you have the money, you can do anything, and get the best care.
What about the every day Joe? Is he to be the guinea pig until the right Hero doctor comes along? This may seem harsh but it is the reality we all will have to deal with from time to time. And when we get sick
for goodness sakes have your own doctor. A feat that is hard in different urban areas. In our town it is almost impossible to get a doctor. So, when you are sick, you risk your life in the hands of who knows what kind of doctor. You maybe lucky and end up with the hero.
:-)
Fight for your right to good health care. “Don’t take no for an answer. ”
” THERE ARE HEROES OUT THERE.”
” Hospital Waiting Time.”
A hospital is the worst place to spend your day.
You enter this place with reluctance , knowing very well that you could become trapped here for ” Hours :-O .”
Our health care system is good, but when you don’t have a doctor of your own, you are at the mercy of the hospital or the clinics. Entering this zone can only be a trip into the dark side. But, here we are left with the only choice we have, be here or not at all. You are feeling lousy, and just wish to crawl up on the chair, and sleep. But, we are not at home and the chairs are full. There are alot of people feeling the same way today.
Check-in time, and here we go. After waiting for three hours, our name is called. “Yahoo!” You think you have just won the lottory, “but wait”, this only the next waiting space. The hospital seems to have alot of places to make people wait to see the doctor on call.
Laying on the stretcher in the room feels great, and your eyes just begin to close, when, you are moved again. You feel like this is a game of musical chairs. ” Are you winning?” Who knows for sure, you certainly don’t. Snuggled down for that long awaited nap,
and the doctor enters. Hey, how are ya, all that stuff, and what is wrong with you today. He seems pleasent enough, and you pour out your heart revealing your every ache and pain. He retreats, did you frieghten him off? But, no here he is with a very handsome nurse, and in her hand is a needle. You swallow hard as this needle looks like it could be used on an elephant. :-O She politly says she will be right back. A rush of releif comes over you, you are safe this time. The doctor says you must have an ultra-sound done, and you are off to another location.
Naked under a gown, with no back in it, you are hoping for no breezes, as you will be baring your butt for all the world to see. :-O You are directed to a chair where the wait is on again. I would still like to know,” who is winning this game of musical chairs?” You are in for the ultra-sound, and the air is very cool, my god, that gel must have been in the freezer. “AAAAAHH.” Thank goodness that is over, and now comes the wait to see if that came out okay. The clock is ticking, as time passes by, the image of you at home all warm in your bed dances through your mind.
The sign is given, and you are on the move again, this time the doctor is waiting on you. The nurse takes your temperature, and pulse, while the doctor reads the chart, and you are on your way for a CT scan. They seem not to be able to locate the problem. Now your blood pressure is higher than the moon. You are on the move again. Time passes by, blood test after blood test. You are beginning to look like a pin cushion, “heck, if they put water in ya and you would leak for sure.” And your color is starting to pale up alittle. Test show you maybe diabetic. “Great.” And, now it is time for the CT scan.
The day has slowly ran away, the once light of the sun has now turned to the dark of the night. Where did it all go to? You wonder in the silence of your make shift room. You mill over the findings of the day, and think, ” I should have eaten that chocolate bar before I left.” Now there will be none of that if diabeties is a reality.
What a long day you have spent, a captive in a world of medical wonders, and musical chairs. The time is very late, and no word has been handed down.
” Time ticks by. ”
“When will this end?”
“Can I go home?”
